Framed Ink

I want to be able to share with other creators tools that I have used that I think are invaluable to me.  These are tools that I think will help you in your own creative endeavors within the category of comics that is.  I want to share a book that I think is fantastic. That book is Framed Ink Drawing and Composition for Visual Storytellers, by Marcos Mateu-Mestre.  I can’t stress enough to you how fantastic and informative this book is.  It will take the vision you have in your mind that you have for each panel you construct and bring it all to a whole new level. The name for Chapter three in the book is called “Composing shots with a purpose.” This is my favorite chapter. “Establishing Shots, Animating the scene, landscape as a character, focal point, action shots, working with motion.” These are examples of what’s in the book. Every time I am working on a comic now, I refer to this along the way. You can’t go through it just once. It will be right next to your work area forever. Check it out!
